ed eventually.
Don’t look at the amount, decoration and deception he creates. He will be defeated eventually. He can never be a winner. No one can be a winner over Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla.
Therefore, be together with Allah جل جلاله. The example shown by our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم is the greatest example. Allah جل جلاله will help you. Allah will send His جل جلاله angels to you. He جل جلاله will send His جل جلاله Awliya. He جل جلاله will send help to you. You will win.
Angels had come down in that battle. Three thousand, five thousand angels came down. Actually, there is no need for that much angels, for Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla can make just a single angel turn the world upside down with its wings. But He جل جلاله did that to show it for the honor of our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla sent them to honor our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم so that people know that it is not by empty words. The truth and all power cannot be against Allah جل جلاله . The power is together with Allah .جل جلاله
The shaytan ‘alayhi l-l’anah, ‘alayhi ma Yastahiqq (may he get what he deserves) was running away on that day in the appearance of a Bedouin. He also had fought there. But when angels came down, he started running away. The Kafirs asked him, “Where are you running? You brought us here and threw us in the middle, and now you are running.” He said, “I see what you cannot see. I am afraid of Allah جل جلاله”. He jumped and fell into the sea. There is a sea near Badr. He jumped into the sea with that speed because of his fear. So the rest ran away too.
The shaytan is like this. The shaytan never helps. May Allah جل جلاله protect us, don’t be with him insha’Allah. Be with Allah جل جلاله insha’Allah. May the Barakah of this day be upon us. They are called Ashabu Badr, Badri’yyeen. May their Barakah also be upon us insha’Allah.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SADAQAT AL-FITR

17 April 2022/ 16 Ramadan 1443
Fajr Prayer, Akbaba Dergah
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh.
A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.
Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Shaykh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Shaykh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad.
Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
One of the duties to be carried out in the holy month of Ramadan Sharif is Sadaqat al-Fitr or Fitrah. It was Zakat in the beginning. And when Zakat became Fard, it became a Sadaqah. Nevertheless, it is as strong as Wajib. It is a Sadaqah that should be given by all Muslims, for the young and the old. It is given during Ramadan and until Eid. You can give in the beginning or the end of it.
You must give it regardless of being poor or rich. But poor people can give as much as they can. And for the rich ones, there is a limit; they should give not below but above that limit. They can give as much as they want. They said it is 40 TL this year. It can be less for the poor ones such as 2kg of barley or wheat which is around 10-15 TL. But for average people, it is 40 TL. They have calculated it as 40 TL based on 2kg of raisins or its equivalent. That is for people with an average income. And the rich ones can give more. It won’t be in vain.
Nothing goes in vain. The more people can give, the more it is accepted in the presence of Allah جل جلاله. It is loved. Allah جل جلاله loves the generous ones.
“الْكَرِيمُ حَبِيبُ اللَّهِ وَالْبَخِيلُ عَدُوُّ اللّهِ”,
“Al-karīmu ḥabību Llāh wa l-bakhīlu ‘aduwwu Llāh.”
The generous one is the beloved servant of Allah جل جلاله. And the stingy one is the enemy of Allah جل جلاله. It is a Hadith Sharif.
Therefore, people should give as much as they can. This is charity. Your money won’t be wasted. Whatever you give will go, and what you don’t give will stay. Therefore, this is something to be done in the month of Ramadan until the Eid prayer.
Zakat can be paid later. But it is special in this month by the wisdom of Allah جل جلاله because the Thawab in Ramadan is greater, as Allah جل جلاله says “I give without account.” Therefore, this is its wisdom. Until the Eid prayer, it is counted as Fitrah. And afterwards, it becomes Sadaqah. Like that, you won’t delay your Sadaqah until Shawwal, and the virtue of Shawwal is not like that of Ramadan. It is ten to one. In Ramadan, it is more than seven hundred to one.
May Allah جل جلاله let us succeed in doing charity and giving. May He جل جلاله let us devote ourselves to that and give easily, because some people find it difficult to give. May Allah جل جلاله not make us from them. May He جل جلاله make us from the generous ones.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

THE RANKS OF PEOPLE

16 April 2022/ 15 Ramadan 1443
Fajr Prayer, Akbaba Dergah
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh.
A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.
Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Shaykh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Shaykh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad.
Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:
وَرَفَعْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ فَوْقَ بَعْضٍ دَرَجَـٰتٍ
(Qur’ān 43:32).
‘‘Wa-rafa‘nā ba‘ḍahum fawqa ba‘ḍin darajāt”’
‘‘And We have raised some of them above others in ranks.’’
Sadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm. Allāh ‘Azza wa Jalla created people with ranks of some being higher than others.
The will of Allah جل جلاله is as such for people to be in goodness, so that they follow certain people. It is the same for evil. Everything has two parts: the good part and the evil part.
In the good part, the highest among people are Prophets. And the highest Prophet among all Prophets is our Holy Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam. He صلى الله عليه وسلم is the one with the highest rank. And then there are the Rusul/ Messengers, the Prophets who were sent down holy books by Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla; they are around 313. And after that there are the Prophets /Anbiya; they are 124,000. They are on the highest level among people. Their rank is so high that Awliya or Sahabah cannot reach that rank. The rank of the Prophets is the highest.
Then there are the Sahabah of our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. They also have different ranks. There are the Ashara Mubashara. There are Khulafāʾi Rāshideen; and there are [ranks] between them also. After that there are Ahlu l-Bayt, of course. And there are those who took part in the Battle of Badr; they are the Badri’yyeen. Their ranks are high too. Then there is Bay’atu r-Ridwan, those who took Bay’ah/ initiation.
Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla created ranks among people like this. After the Sahabah, there are the Awliya, ‘Alims and ‘Ulama. Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla raised them and introduced religion to people through them. They made people love the religion. They have high stations and respect in the presence of Allah جل جلاله. To show respect to them is to show respect to Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla and to our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. Those who accept them are accepted as Ahlu l-Sunnah wa l-Jama’ah.

Those who don’t accept them are not Ahlu l-Sunnah wa l-Jama’ah. They are out of Ahlu l-Sunnah wa l-Jama’ah. They are from the broken groups. And this, as we said, is the second part: the evil part. Allah جل جلاله put them down as evil ones. The lower they are, the lower are the people who follow them.
They are enemies of Allah جل جلاله, followers of Pharaoh, Nimrod, Lenin, Stalin, Mao and people like them. And then there are the enemies of Islam who are traitors and hypocrites. They compete with each other in their ranks.
May Allah جل جلاله protect us from their evil. And may Allah جل جلاله insure us against their traps. If people are caught in their evil and traps, they will perish. May Allah جل جلاله protect us. It is nothing to perish in this world. They will perish in Akhirah, and there will be no intercessor for them. No one will look at their faces there. Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla won’t look at the faces of such people and won’t show mercy to them, because they don’t ask for mercy. They don’t ask for anything but evil.
May Allah جل جلاله protect us with the Barakah of Ramadan. May Allah جل جلاله protect people from that evil and badness.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

DON’T MISS THE MATTERS OF AKHIRAH

15 April 2022/ 14 Ramadan 1443
Fajr Prayer, Akbaba Dergah
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh.
A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.
Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Shaykh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Shaykh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad.
Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
As long as we live in this world, people lose material things. They get upset and say, “If only I did this, I would earn this much. If only I did that, I would earn that much”. They get upset that they couldn’t do it. Whereas worldly possessions are going to stay in this world. No need to be sad about them. If you want to be upset, be upset for the things you couldn’t do for your Akhirah. That is the eternal and permanent thing. Clever people think about that and feel sorry for the things they couldn’t do.
A big example of this is Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. During his last days, it was one Friday. He didn’t lead the prayers as Imam in his last days. We or our nephew Mehmet Nazim, or Bahauddin Efendi used to lead as Imam. On Friday, it is Sunnah to read Surat al-Sajdah and Surat al-Insan [in Fajr Fard prayer]. We forgot about it that day and read another Surah instead. He was so upset and cried, “I’ve been reading Surat al-Sajdah for sixty years and making Sajdah. I haven’t skipped this Sunnah. Today we forgot about it.” He was very sad and cried for it. Then we decided to repeat it all over again and read Surat al-Sajdah. We repeated the Fajr prayer, so he felt relieved.
Matters of Akhirah are that much important for mankind. We shouldn’t miss the smallest things from them. Mawlana Shaykh Nazim would never miss such things and he didn’t want to miss them. He used to do all of the Sunnah, Fard and Mustahabb. People assume that the gold, silver and jewels of this world are important. Whereas, those things are important. It is required for us not to miss any of them. They are the things that take people to higher stations and higher ranks. To do them brings great strength, great benefit and a lot of goodness to people. Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla gave them, so we should benefit from them.
People should do as much as they can. It is better than nothing, if they do something. Therefore, do as much as you can. May Allah جل جلاله always let us attain this beautiful beneficence and beautiful Thawab insha’Allah.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

There are recited Qur’an Khatms, Khatms of Yasin, Salawat, Ayat and Tasbihat. And there is charity and goodness done. May Allah جل جلاله accept them.
We dedicate them firstly to the soul of our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, to his Ahlu l-Bayt and Sahabah, to the souls of all the Anbiya, Awliya, Asfiya, Mashayikh, to the souls of all of our late relatives, to the souls of all Muslims. May their good goals be reached. May they be happy here and hereafter.
May the sick be cured. May the debts be gone. May there be strength for our Iman.
LiLlahi Ta’ala l-Fatiha.

APPRAISE ALLAH ‘AZZA WA JALLA

14 April 2022/ 13 Ramadan 1443
Fajr Prayer, Akbaba Dergah
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh.
A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.
Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Shaykh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Shaykh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad.
Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm:
وَمَا قَدَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ
(Qur’ān 39:67)
“Wamā qadarū Llāha ḥaqqa Qadrih”
‘’They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal’’
Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla says in this ‘Ayah, people don’t appraise the Power and Greatness of Allah جل جلاله. They keep asking how He جل جلاله is. Non-Muslim people and even Muslims don’t appraise or know the value of Allah جل جلاله
People outside of Islam think and do things according to their minds. They want to put Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla in a certain shape. Ḥāshā (far from it)! Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla,
لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِۦ شَىْءٌ
‘Laysa kamithlihi shay’un’’
“There is nothing like unto Him.’’
(Qur’ān 42:11).
There is nothing like Him جل جلاله. He جل جلاله is beyond your understanding and imagination. He جل جلاله is much above the limits of your mind. Therefore, we must know the Power, Mightiness and Greatness of Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla. People can understand it only from the things that Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla does and shows, from things He جل جلاله creates. You cannot reach His جل جلاله essence at all.
As people don’t appraise Allah جل جلاله, they are worshipping statues, idols and this and that. Whereas, these are things that don’t bring them any benefit. Muslims also don’t appraise or know the value of Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla. When something happens, they start saying, “Why did it happen? Why is Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla doing this to us? Is it a test or something?” This is not your business. What you must do is mind your own business, track your own work and perform your worship properly. That is your duty. No need to question the rest. It is the wisdom of Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla. And only Allah جل جلاله knows His جل جلاله wisdom. This is to appraise and know the value of Allah جل جلاله
You should never ask, “Why is that like this?” “I wonder why is it like this? I am praying and fasting. Yet, I am not doing well. I fell sick and this and that”. These complaints are from the weakness of your Iman. Otherwise, to rely on Allah جل جلاله is the first duty for Muslims. To appreciate Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla is to rely on Him جل جلاله, to be pleased with whatever He جل جلاله does and to reach the station of contentment. A person who does this is both raised in the presence of Allah جل جلاله and feels comfort himself.
Otherwise, non-Muslims, especially Christians, get angry at ‘Adam ‘alayhi s-salam. They say that he made a mistake and committed a sin, and that they are suffering because of his sin. Ḥāshā (far from it)! He is the Prophet of Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla. He is our forefather. To be ill-mannered towards him doesn’t bring any benefit; it brings nothing but sin. People are just looking for a means to put their sins on others.
There are thousands and hundreds of thousands of examples like this. Therefore, don’t be like them. To show respect to all of the Prophets, Sahabah and Awliya is our duty.
“ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّن رُّسُلِ”
‘‘Lā nufariqqu bayna aḥadin min Rusulih’’
‘’We make no distinction between any of His messengers.’’(Qur’ān 02:285).
You cannot say that this Prophet is good and that Prophet is bad. Therefore, we should pay attention to this. May Allah جل جلاله give us true Iman. May we become His جل جلاله beloved servants insha’Allah.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

THE FAVOR OF VISITING MAQAMS

12 April 2022/ 11 Ramadan 1443
Fajr Prayer, Akbaba Dergah
As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh.
A‘ūdhu Billāhi Minash-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismillāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm.
Wa ṣ-Salātu wa s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-Awwalīna wa l-Akhirīn. Madad yā RasūlAllāh, Madad yā Sādāti Aṣḥābi Rasūlillāh, Madad yā Mashāyikhinā, Dastūr Mawlana Shaykh Abdullāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistāni, Shaykh Muḥammad Nāẓim al- Ḥaqqānī. Madad.
Ṭarīqatunā aṣ-Suḥbah wa l-Khayru fi l-Jam‘iyyah.
Our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم says that the things that will remind you about Akhirah are good. This is the meaning of a Hadith. Shukr to Allah جل جلاله, Allah جل جلاله granted us yesterday to visit the Maqam of Sayyidina Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, [born as] Khalid bin Zayd, a holy man who hosted the guests of our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. We were also his guests there and broke our fast there. He favored us both spiritually and physically, may his Maqam be high.
They are holy ones. They remind us about Akhirah. They are beautiful people. Wherever they are, they are called Sultan in the place they’re in. Ayyub Sultan, Hala Sultan... Wherever the place is, our ancestors favored them and always honored them. They honored them by both building their Maqams/ shrines, and making charity in their names.
Shukr to Allah جل جلاله, the Ottomans and those before them; all of them went on this way. They favored those who were on the way of our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. They built mosques, tombs and almshouses. And their charity and goodness always lasted. Those who came afterwards called it Shirk/ polytheism and Bid’ah/ innovation. That is because of the jealousy and envy of shaytan. Otherwise, to favor the Sahabah of our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, Mashayikh, Awliya and Ahlu l-Bayt makes us closer to Allah جل جلاله. For their honor, their spirituality will be present.
Therefore, it was practiced more in old times. When the three holy months came, they visited all Maqams. But now they are confusing people and telling them it is wrong. Also, they are lazy. They don’t go around as before. Whereas, they go to a mosque for the pleasure of Allah جل جلاله and make Ziyarah there. They read Yasin and Qur’an, things that they know. They pray and return home. They both remember the three holy months and attain so much virtue. For reading the Qur’an, there are 10 Thawab for every letter, not only one Thawab. If our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم stayed home - he wouldn’t do that. Certainly, to go with the Jama’ah is for the pleasure of Allah جل جلاله. To go with the Jama’ah is beautiful.
The shaytan doesn’t like it and makes people forget these customs. These servants of Allah جل جلاله are the Sahabah of our Holy Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم praised them and told us to follow them. They are like stars, showing us the way. Whoever you follow from them, you’ll find guidance, says our Holy Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Those who reached until here by following any of them are under guidance. Therefore, we should benefit from this favor.
Shukr to Allah جل جلاله, the Sahabah and Awliya are everywhere. There is nothing wrong in visiting them for the pleasure of Allah جل جلاله. On the contrary, they have benefit, as they are the beloved servants of Allah جل جلاله. They are not dead. They are alive, because all of them are Shaheed. When someone is Shaheed, Allah جل جلاله mentions it in Qur’an ‘Azimu sh-Shan,
“Don’t think they are dead; they are alive”. (Qur’ān 03:169). The people who are alive give us from that life, the true life given by Allah جل جلاله which is the eternal life.
MayAllah جل جلاله raise their Maqam. May their Barakah be upon us. And may they give us from their Iman insha’Allah.
Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

Raise Your Children on Islamic Education (13.04.2022)

Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla says, BismiLlahi r-Rahmani r-Rahim:
هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
‘Hal yastawī lladhīna yaʿlamūna wa-lladhīna lā yaʿlamūn’, ‘Are those who know equal to those who do not know?’ (Qur’ān 39:09). Are those who know and those who don’t know equal? They are not. Those who know are people who possess knowledge and who are praised by our Holy Prophet ﷺ.
People, Muslims should learn the things required for the religion as much as they can. Because sometimes they commit a sin without knowing, and they make others commit a sin. They think that they are doing something good. The biggest example for this is parents and children. So many people are serving their children so much now that the children think that their duty is the duty of others to serve them. Whereas, to look after the parents and to serve them is their duty. We let that pass; it is fine. You can serve your children for this world. It is ok. But you cannot compromise on something ordered by Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla. Religion is not as you wish.
Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla created people. He ﷻ knows what they can and cannot do. So He ﷻgives orders according to that. It is when they become Bāligh/mature, not when they are 18 years old, like they say. When a person is Bāligh/mature, it can be on the age of 12, 13, 14, or 15, then it is Fard. You cannot say as you like that he is a child and that he cannot do it. What is Fard should be done. You must explain the Fard to him. Masha’Allah now small children are smarter than us. They know everything. But when it comes to worship, they are still young. They do everything, and they know everything better than you and me. Therefore, we must explain these things. We must tell them the things that should be done.
Let alone that, people of the present time say, “There is an exam. So don’t fast, my son. Don’t fast, my daughter”. May your worthless education fail! Moreover, you make them avoid this Fard. They won’t be able to attain this Thawab anymore in their lives. When you leave a day of fasting in Ramadan, even if you fast all your life, you won’t be able to reach the virtue of that one day. They don’t even know this.
Therefore, our Holy Prophet salla Llāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam says that the knowledge of religion, to know what the religion is, is better than worshipping for a thousand years. If you do it knowingly, it is good. But as we said, people of the present time act according to their minds. It is wrong. You do not compromise on worldly things at all. You sacrifice everything you have for them when it comes to education, and what they study are worthless things. You don’t compromise on it, but compromise on the useful things ordered by Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla. And then you complain, “My child became like this. He doesn’t look after me”.
The biggest example for this; one of our brothers who passed away last year let his son not fast when he had exams. He spent three years in a hospital, and his son didn’t come even once to visit him. His son didn’t even visit him when he passed away. This is what they grow up to be. If you make them ignore the Fard of Allah ‘Azza wa Jalla and do as you like, this is just one example. There are thousands, a hundred thousands of examples like this.
Therefore, beware! Parents’ education for their children must be Islamic education. You must pay attention to this. You must teach them when something is Fard and what they should do. It is not good to give them everything they want. They should have a little bit of hard time, because life is not only in parents’ hugs. There are hardships. And when they are always in comfort, they become miserable when they face hardship. May Allah ﷻ protect us. May Allah ﷻ give intellect and understanding to Muslim families so that they raise their children right and educate their children right insha’Allah. Wa min Allah at-Tawfiq. Al-Fatiha.

Fasting and the Time of Sleep (11.04.2022)

Our Holy Prophet ﷺ says,
أَفْضَلُ الْأَعْمَالِ أَشَقُّهَا
The best of deeds is the difficult one. What we mean by difficult is something that’s difficult for the ego of mankind. They are the deeds that are more virtuous and that make us earn more Thawab. Certainly, first among them comes Jihad, The Greatest Jiha
