There is no such prayer (eg. salatal kafara az-dhanoob)

There is no such prayer (eg. salatal kafara az-dhanoob) which covers several hundreds or 1000 years of missed prayers, it was never taught by Mawlana Shaykh Nazim. But we have to mention it to people today, as people are going to think it is true and start obeying it. We are warning them not to obey it. - Shaykh Mehmet Adil al-Ḥaqqānī

It is misleading people, showing tariqah as a foolish way to others and giving excuses others to attack and degrade tariqah.

The Missed Ṣalāh Must Be Qaḍā’

Shaykh Mehmet Adil al-Ḥaqqānī

Ṣuḥbah of the 6th of April, 2024.

As-Salāmu ‘alaykum wa-raḥmatu Llāhi wa-barakātuh.

A‘ūdhu bi-Llāhi mina sh-shayṭāni r-rajīm. Bismi Llāhi r-Raḥmāni r-Raḥīm. Aṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-Salāmu ‘alá Rasūlinā Muḥammadin Sayyidi l-awwalīna wa-l-ākhirīn. Madad yā Rasūla Llāh, madad yā Sādātī Aṣḥābi Rasūli Llāh, madad yā Mashāyikhanā, dastūr Mawlānā Shaykh ‘Abdu Llāh al-Fā’iz ad-Dāghistānī, Shaykh Muḥammad Nāẓim al-Ḥaqqānī. Madad.

Ṭarīqatuna ṣ-ṣuḥbah, wa-l-khayru fi l-jam’iyyah.

Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, "A person who says what I didn't say," as if our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم had said it, "should prepare his place in hell." Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says so because his صلى الله عليه وسلم holy words are told with wisdom. They are told by the order of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. It is wrong for other people to present them in a different way, as if that is what our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم had said, because you don't have that wisdom. What you do is lying. And the punishment for a lie is even greater when it comes to our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Therefore . . .

There are various holy days and some holy nights that occur in Ramaḍān. People were sharing something about Laylatu l-Qadr last night. They said if you do such a thing, it is the same as making up for missed prayers (kaffārah). We heard it years ago. But we have to mention it to people today, as people are going to think it is true and start obeying it. We are warning them not to obey it. They are also describing it as below: If you pray four raka‘āt in one night, Laylatu l-Qadr, you will perform kaffārah prayer for all the prayers you didn't make. That has nothing to do with prayer. There isn't such a prayer. "This makes up for all your prayers. No need to make qaḍā’ (make-up) prayers." They also say it is kaffārah for several hundred years. There is no such thing. A person who says this as if our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم had said so makes a big mistake. He should repent for it and ask for forgiveness from Allāh جل جلاله

And the worse side of it is that they use the name of Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim and his photos and cheat other people. That is another sin, another slander. We heard that they use the name of Mawlānā. Some people came to us who have been cheated by them for years. "We are khalīfah. We are this and that. If you do like this, you must do like that. You must serve me. You're not allowed to go to the Shaykh. Only I am allowed to see the Shaykh." It was same in Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim's time as well. Some khalīfahs used to claim there was no need to go to Shaykh, and no permission. Even though some murīds could have gone, they forbid them. They had deprived these people from seeing the Shaykh for years. There is punishment for it. If people ask about it in ākhirah, they won't be able to pay their debt. These matters . . .

Our ṭarīqah and sharī‘ah are same. There is no difference between them. Therefore, it is wrong to cheat people by saying there is hidden knowledge and some other knowledge. And may Allāh جل جلاله help people; while they are trying to walk on the way of Allāh جل جلاله, they are cheated by these people because of their gullibility. Cheaters think they get some benefit, whereas they acquire so many sins. They take the rights of so many servants. There are the rights of a servant, apart from sins. That is a greater issue.

Regarding qaḍā’ prayers, never had Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim told us not to make kaffārah for them. He didn't tell us not to make qaḍā’. Mawlānā used to say, "Pray as much as you can." Shukr to Allāh جل جلاله, if you count our daily prayers including sunnah, nafl and other prayers, it makes about a hundred raka‘āt of prayers. Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim says – it is also mentioned in ḥadīth – on Judgment Day, people will be asked about the prayers they didn't perform. "Did you make qaḍā’?" "I did." They will check if that is done. "Did you make qaḍā’?" "We did so and so." They will look at their sunnah then. "Are these sunnah prayers valid to cover qaḍā’ prayers?" "They are." Okay. If not, they will look at nafl prayers. The more prayers they will have performed, the more will be counted as qaḍā’. "Don't pray. There is kaffārah for it. There is kaffārah of a hundred, five hundred, a thousand years. You don't have to make qaḍā’." People who say this, as if from our Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, are lying. There are some ḥadīths which are called mawḍū‘. They were brought up later. Our Holy Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam says, "How do you know it? Look into your heart. If it obeys sharī‘ah and the orders brought by me, then it is true." But this one does not conform at all. And it is not acceptable at all. As we haven't heard such a thing from our mashāyikh, this ḥadīth is not right. Don't believe it.

Because when people browse the internet now, there are a lot of fatwá. Everywhere is fatwá. People are making fatwá as they like, people who claim to be scholars. But people believe and do as they say without investigating. Whereas you can ask about this from pious people, from pious imāms and scholars. No need to do that thing that is all in your head. There is great punishment for it. It is difficult to compensate for it. Therefore, we must be careful. We must be especially careful with worship, in shā'a Llāh. Because to make up for one obligatory prayer, it is not enough to perform nafl prayers all your life. It is about one farḍ (obligation). So think about how much you lose because of a wrong fatwá.

Therefore, you must be careful. May Allāh جل جلاله protect us. May Allāh جل جلاله protect our faith, in shā’a Llāh.

Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi w a-sallam saying, "Who saying something I didn't say, and they said, claim, this ḥadīth, saying from Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, he must prepare his place in hell." Because very important, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, "Wa-mā yanṭiqu ‘ani l-hawá" (53:3).He صلى الله عليه وسلم never saying anything without Allāh's جل جلاله order, He جل جلاله inspiration give him صلى الله عليه وسلم. Every word from Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, [we] must follow . And not looking . . . how we can know this from Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم or not from Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم . Many thing from – First, you must look if it is what Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم way, way of Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, acting of Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, saying of Prophet, ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam. Same with this ḥadīth. We don't know ḥadīth. Many ḥadīth, people they know, they don't know. Even somebody saying, "This, ḥadīth," and people believe.

So for this, why we saying this? Because there is one saying now in internet, everywhere. I hear this before also, from some [of] our murīd also. Somebody saying there is praying, ṣalāt, when you pray this, no need to make what you lose from, you couldn't pray, you didn't pray – from prayers of obligatory prayers which you don't pray. So when you pray this two raka‘āt or four raka‘āt, it will be Allāh جل جلاله forgive you for thousand year. You are not living thousand year. You are living less than hundred year. What for others? So this, something like this.

And I don't want to say it, but every day, every time, every time I hear this. I must say this. This is never I heard something like this from Mawlānā or from any ‘ālim (scholar), from good ‘ālim, or I didn't see in any book for this ḥadīth. So, maybe and what they said, it must be last, in last hour or something from Laylatu l-Qadr, last night. So it was many, somebody show me this. But Laylatu l-Qadr – even this crazy people who claim this – Laylatu l-Qadr not on twenty-seven, anytime can be. How you can find, and pray this, and Allāh جل جلاله forgive you for all of this, what you didn't pray? It is not good thinking. Who believe this, he will be regret.

Because Mawlānā was saying, and this ḥadīth, Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam saying: if somebody he didn't pray and he want make this, what he lose from praying, Mawlānā was saying to pray with each time, one obligatory. Maybe for Fajr, two raka‘āt farḍ, obligatory. After, or for Ẓuhr also, four. For ‘Aṣr four . . . like this. He continue. And he was also making us, Allāh جل جلاله bless him, Allāh جل جلاله make him higher station, to every occasion to pray nāfilah (voluntary prayers), like tahajjud, like ḍuḥá, ishrāq, awwābīn, shukr. And many praying, especially for sunnah before farḍ or after farḍ. Every . . . So we pray every day nearly hundred raka‘āt from, if you collect, with this.

And Mawlānā was saying, when Allāh جل جلاله ask for this, asking for praying, "How much you pray? Al-ḥamdu liLlāh you pray whole life. Good, al-ḥamdu liLlāh, you good." "Second one you pray?" "I didn't pray but, I was making after, qaḍā’, meaning make one by one and, al-ḥamdu liLlāh, I finish." Third one coming. "I couldn't, I try to make qaḍā’ but I couldn't finish." So Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla looking for sunnah, what they pray from sunnah and calculating. "With sunnah it's okay. Finish. You are, nothing for you." Fourth one he come, he couldn't also. But sunnah not enough, make from nafl, this, after praying, like ḍuḥá, like awwābīn, other, shukr. Also with this, can finish with this, also.

So this is what we are hearing: Mawlānā was teaching people to do this. And from where they bring this? Saying this is kaffārah, by themselves. And the worst thing, what they doing also, they put picture of Mawlānā and saying – people thought this is, somebody tell me, "This is your your canal, or channel, something." I said, "I didn't – we never said something like this." "Who is this man?" I said, "We never see him." So it's many people. They are crook people. They are doing this, and they will be more punished for what they doing: from making, saying Prophet ṣallá Llāhu ‘alayhi wa-sallam, not saying. And other saying, Mawlānā also
saying, also not saying.

And they are using people. They not allowed them to come to Shaykh or to dergah or to murshid. And they use this people. They take from benefit from him, from them. Many people I met them, they was crying. "For five year we were following all this, was all false." And even time of Mawlānā, many of wakīl, they was not allowed the murīd to come to see Mawlānā. Say, "No need, no permission for you. Why you going Cyprus? Don't go there."

So this people, Mawlānā, they was unfortunately unlucky. They couldn't meet Mawlānā. And they have and everything, they can come, from the finance, thing, they have everything. But from this people who prevent them to not come, they couldn't meet Mawlānā. And this was also, Allāh جل جلاله will punish them for this people, for what they done for this people also. If they ask in Qiyāmah, "This people, they did not allowed me to see my Shaykh, my murshid, to get bless from him." It is very difficult for people to follow good shaykh. There are many people, they cheat them like this.

But must be look for, if you hear anything this, you can ask. Not asking internet, Google or other, I don't know what their name, they, to make them fatwá. There is good ‘ālim, good shaykh, good murshid. You can ask. "Oh this, I hear this, is it true?" He said, "No, not true." "Why this? But our, this, who looking after us, he claiming he is murshid, he saying this true. How it can be?" If you, something, one saying this, ask other. If other also saying this, you are not happy also, ask more. And at the end, if you like, you don't happy, ask that time your murshid, what is this situation for this saying. Because this is not a joke. This you can lose . . . Billion you cannot find, with what you lose. Because one farḍ, obligatory praying, you pray in your life. If whole life you pray – not obligatory – sunnah or nafl, you cannot take this reward from what you done. This is very important.

Not important for what people they thought important. Important to look for your worshipping, what you are doing, in shā’a Llāh. Allāh جل جلاله keep us safe from bad people, from who, hypocrite people. Amīn.

Wa-min Allāhi t-tawfīq, al- Fātiḥah.
