uharram al-Haraam, and it is the first Friday. We are asking Allah Almighty to send us heavenly armies to take away Shaytan and its armies. We are waiting and expecting Mahdi (a) to come, and then Jesus Christ to come (a), and then there is going to be a sulh, peace on Earth! Allah Almighty asks His servants to be peaceful and to live happy lives. Shaytan asks people to harm each other and destroy everything. May Allah forgive us, for the honor of this holy month in which He always gives His support for good ones. At the end of this Muharram al-Haraam, we are expecting ta`eed, heavenly support and blessings to reach good ones, the true servants of Allah, to reach the highest honor and to take away Shaytan and its followers. O People! Hear and listen and obey what Allah Almighty says in the four holy books, including the last one,

As-salaamu `alaykum our attenders through east and west on this planet. That is a heavenly grant for everyone. Every creature is asking to reach that honor to be addressed from heavens, As-salaamu `alaykum! Allah, Allah. Such honor granted to Mankind, to humanity, no one would be able to measure the value of saying, As-salaamu `alaykum. Allah, Allah. O Our Attenders! Don't think that only a handful of attenders are listening to this heavenly addressing! Now everyone on this planet is thirsty to reach something from heavens coming to Earth. If we were not created as Man, that salaam would never reach us. For the honor of humans, salaam, "peace" is being transmitted to Earth and if Mankind had not been created, salaam (peace) would never come on Earth! For the honor of Mankind, peace comes to this plane, so that everyone may taste something from rahmat, heavenly mercy! They desire to reach that mercy in accordance their physical beings in this Creation. Allahu akbar! Heavenly knowledge reaches some special, selected people, some chosen ones to whom heavenly knowledge reaches, and it has also reached me through my Grandshaykh (q). We know the Lord of Heavens created four seasons on Earth, and of those seasons, spring is known for its rain; there is something very special about spring rain. Throughout the spring season--March, April and May--in these three months there is also the most valuable rain. Yet the most precious month of spring is April, and there is wisdom and reasons for that month being so special. It has been selected to have such a quality because the Seal of the Prophets (s), the most beloved one for whose honor all was created, was born in April! (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) That is hidden knowledge and it carries hidden treasures that are hidden wisdoms. Of all twelve months, April is so beloved and the most valuable treasures are granted in that month. The Lord of Heavens sends rain from the heavens; such rain that reaches Earth and gives it new life. If it did not rain, Earth would dry out and nothing more would grow. It is well-known to heavenly, holy people that rain comes from under the Holy Throne. If it gives one drop, all that rain takes barakah, blessings from it, then that rain gives new life to everything. It changes them and takes terrible burdens from everything, particularly from Man. And whoever knows that secret wisdom will stand under that rain, allowing it to completely touch their bodies. O Salafi `ulamas, marhaban. Do you know such things? I don't think you know only to say hadeethu 'n- nabawiyyatu 'sh-shareefa, and that this or that is mawdu` (fabricated), or da`eef (weak). No! You must try to

http://www.sufismus-online.de/PeaceIsGrantedToHumanity (2 von 5)04.07.2013 23:29:20

know something, and you must not judge everything, because judgment is ultimately for Allah Almighty! Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar! (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sits.) When those drops of April's rain fall, even the fishes in the oceans come up, opening their mouths to reach just one spot of that rain, opening and waiting. Allahu akbar! All Creation is waiting to reach that mawj, waves of mercy. This is such an example: when one person says, As-salaamu `alaykum, that salaam comes with such mercy that everything in Creation, everything on this planet looks and asks for more and more of the blessings to reach them; they are opening to receive it, like those fish. Allahu akbar! But Mankind is so ignorant and heedless! That is the biggest heavenly grant to those living on this planet, and it is only for Mankind. Other creatures have not been granted this but still they are asking to reach something of that holy blessing that reaches Earth. Everything takes their share in existence and to them also comes an opening. It is not strange, (it is a fact) that when Prophet (s) says to a a dead person, As-salaamu `alayka, that person must stand up. Such a power is granted through salaam! O People! Always say to each other, As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh. Therefore, we say, As-salaamu `alaykum our attenders. This salaam is something else. They are making such a weak servant address all people through east and west through such instruments (Internet). The Lord of Heavens grants heavenly blessings to reach His most beloved one's nation. Therefore, He has ordered if a person arrives at meeting, he must say, As-salaamu `alaykum: that opens the doors of rahmah, mercy for people. Everything asks for this mercy and blessing. Therefore, Sayyidina Muhammad (s) said, As-salaam qabl al- kalaam, "Say salaam before speaking." Don’t speak before giving salaam. Salaam is the first thing to make your meeting under heavenly protection. Because if you are not saying, as-salaam qabl al-kalaam, the most dangerous enemy of Mankind may join you. When you are saying, As-salaamu `alaykum, that salaam cannot reach Shaytan. And it ran up and said, "As-salaamu `alaykum." Iblees came and said, "As-salaamu `alaykum." The Seal of Prophets (s), the most glorified, who has been granted majesty, said, "O `adoowullah! O most mukrih, most hated one in the Divine Presence! Salaam belongs to us. We are not saying to you, 'Wa `alaykum as-salaam.' No! It is for us!" Salaam is a powerful, honored word that is a heavenly address to people living on this planet.

O Salafi `ulamas! Marhaban. And we also direct our address to Azhar ash-Shareef `ulamas who are now becoming proud of such imitated titles, saying, "We are doctors." We are not doctors! Don’t put that in front of your name, "Dr. Fulan, Doctor of Shari`ah." It is against Shari`atullah. Leave such imitated titles that will never give benefit to you here or Hereafter. No one on the Day of Resurrection honors you, and no salaam comes to you because of that! Therefore, they are making me to address all `ulamas who use such wrong, imitated titles. They practice Shari`ah according to their Salafi madhhabs. No, leave that! Be simple! Don’t run after any imitated title, hoping that will give you honor. No, you maybe be a doctor, a professor or anything else. Yet that never gives you honor in the Divine Presence. The only honor you must learn and use and teach people, the most high honor for you, is obedience and service: to be a servant of your Lord. Why are you not writing at the beginning of your names, "A humble servant of our Lord, Fulan (somebody)." Why are you not writing this? You are writing, "PhD." For what? Why do you not write at the beginning of your names, "A weak servant, hoping to be accepted in the Divine Presence as the weakest servant?" That gives honor to whoever writes it! And you are getting angry with such an old person. Why? If it is not true, say! Why Shi`a `ulamas are not writing it in front of their names? Instead, they write before their names ayatullah or hujjatullah or such a titles? Why they are not writing, "A weak servant asking to be accepted in the Divine Presence, as the weakest servant!" Because those titles give an imitated honor to you on this planet through people. Don’t ask an honor from people. No, but you must look to yourself and teach people to say, "These people are destroying their spirituality with some imitated titles of no value!" O People! Therefore, when you say, As-salaamu `alaykum, it gives you an honor from heaven, and through that honor comes mercy and rain over people, renewing their real beings, and they become stronger and stronger servants of the Lord. Why do you not begin your speeches by saying, "O my listeners, you are listening to a very weak servant of our Lord. Perhaps the Lord of Heavens will grant some real values, such that you will be happy with them here and Hereafter." O `ulamas! You are the people of the 15th-century (hijrah year). You are writing, speaking and teaching, but you are not teaching such important points. What a waste! You are losing your heavenly chance because you are not applying these points to yourselves, nor are you passing them to people and teaching them! You are not wayl (warning) those people running to be known as big scholars, no! That has no value. Allah Almighty will ask you, "You're aim was to be the most well-known scholar, but why did you not ask to be a servant in

My Divine Presence?" He will question everyone who claims such things. May Allah forgive us! O People! Come and accept reality, then you will be happy. You will be granted heavenly grants here and Hereafter. May Allah forgive us. As-salaamu `alaykum. (Mawlana Shaykh sings.) Dome, dome, dome, dome 4x Absolute Greatness is only for the Lord of `Arsh, the Holy Throne. Remember that, O people! May Allah forgive us. Fatihah. Hisham Effendi is not calling? Perhaps he is traveling. (Mawlana Shaykh speaks with Shaykh Hisham Effendi on the phone.) Lefke, 09.05.2010

Peace on Earth

Everyone must believe in their Creator. I believe in the Lord of Heavens, the Creator of mankind. I am a servant of the Lord. Abdullah is my name, even though people call me Sheik Nazim. I don't think that a Muslim, a Christian, a Catholic, an Orthodox, a Methodist, a Buddhist, a Hindu or a Jew would refuse to be called a servant of their Lord. Bishops are servants, Sheiks are servants, the Pope is a servant, an Emperor is a servant, Sultans and Kings and Queens are servants. Everyone is a servant. No-one can pass over from being a servant to being a lord. There is only one who is a Lord. That is what we believe. We also believe that this life is temporary. There is an eternal permanent life. We believe in the eternity of the Lord. His Kingdom stretches from pre-eternity to eternity. It is never-ending. We are now trying to take away the kingdom of satan and to establish the real Kingdom of Heavens on earth. As long as the satanic kingdom is enact there will be no peace. When the Kingdom of Heavens has been established on earth peace will come. Without that we will not be able to defeat the devils and overcome the evil. We are trying to achieve this in a general way within all religions. 01.01.1996

Peace Talk

The purpose of any religion and of any spiritual path is to help people to become peaceful. To become peaceful, to reach peace in this life. To reach peace within themselves firstly and then with others is the purpose of religious life and of any spiritual path. Everyone is looking for that. Everyone who is pursuing anything in this life, who wants anything, who desires anything, they only want to reach peace. They may call it happiness but it is the same. Usually, we don't understand what happiness consists in. We think that happiness consists in getting what we want. "I want something, I run after it, and if I have it I am happy." But that is not true. If you look carefully at how it really is (because everyone can know, everyone has made so many attempts in their lives to reach happiness), you will see that happiness does not consist in getting what you want. Happiness consists in not having to run anymore. To have what you wanted is no guarantee for not having to run anymore. If this were the case, then we would have been happy a long time ago, and we would also stay happy, but we don't. Why not? Have we never reached what we wanted to reach? Of course, we have. We may later say it didn't turn out the way we wanted it. But that is another story. When you got what you wanted, why weren't you happy? Or if you were really happy, what was it that made you happy? It is not the thing you wanted that made you happy. To think so is a

http://www.sufismus-online.de/PeaceTalk (1 von 5)04.07.2013 23:29:21

6646 Maulana Sheikh Nazim: PeaceTalk

common error. We don't know how to be happy because we misplace our happiness in the thing we wanted. That is ignorance and foolishness. If we looked carefully, we would see that what makes us happy is that little moment where we don't want anymore. Then, at least for one moment, we are at peace. Nothing disturbs us, no ghosts are chasing us, no desires, nothing. If the only way to reach peace in this life were to reach the thing one wants, then all of us would be happy once and for all. But we don't understand where happiness lies. If we understood, we would stop running because we would know its place and what it consists in. So we must ask. We must ask those who know: Where does peace lie? What does it consist of? How can we reach it? We must ask those who know. They are, firstly, Allah himself, and secondly, His Beloved Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and thirdly those who inherited his knowledge. We must ask them: "Can you tell us please, where and how we can reach peace?" They will not withhold advice. They are ready, waiting to be asked. One of them, Abu Said Abu-l Khayr, one of the great friends of Allah, said: "If you are looking for peace amongst creatures, you will find quarrelling. And your quarrelling will not stop." Don't think that you will be able to reach peace through yourselves. Why do you look for it in that direction? If you want to quarrel, then look in that direction, look at each other and you will find it. Yet nobody wants to quarrel. They are all saying, 'We don't want it', but they are looking for it. How strange! What strange beings we are! There must be something wrong. We are saying one thing and look for its opposite. We are looking this way and walk that way. How come? Are there two inside us? Maybe there are two inside us, or we are two, not one with ourselves. Even with ourselves we are quarrelling. One of us says, "I am looking for peace and happiness", and the other one looks for trouble. Then we find ourselves somewhere between those two and say, "I don't understand, I'm looking for peace and all I find is trouble. How come?" Because we are ignorant ones. And not only ignorant, but also unwilling to listen. We don't like to pay attention to those who know and can give advice. We say, "I am looking for advice", but when someone gives advice, we don't listen. We argue instead, saying "Why did you say that? I don't agree." So Abu Said said: If you are looking for peace and you are looking at people like yourselves, you will have a very long quarrel ahead of you. Now we all are familiar with what happened to Sidi Ahmed el Badawi in his search. We are all a little bit like Sidi Ahmad al-Badawi, not accepting help when help comes, wanting always to do everything by ourselves. When that Qutb (the Pole of his age) met Sidi Ahmad al- Badawi saying "I have

http://www.sufismus-online.de/PeaceTalk (2 von 5)04.07.2013 23:29:21

6647 Maulana Sheikh Nazim: PeaceTalk

your key, the key for your happiness, take it from me!" And Sidi Ahmad said, "I'm not going to take it from you, only from Allah Himself." So the Qutb answered: "Good. If you are not taking it from me, let's leave it." And he left him. And everything left him with that Qutb. Everything he had ever learned went away until he did not even know Sura al-Fatiha (the Opening Verse). So these people say, "You don't have to take our advice. If you don't want it, leave it. It will only take you a longer time and some more hardships to learn, to understand, to listen". Everyone has his or her time to come around. Some take little time, some a long time, because they are very stubborn. Every heart has its time until it is soft, its time for softening. A hard heart does not return to its Creator. Only soft hearts return to their Lord. Because when we are born, we are born with soft hearts. Then, when we grow up our hearts grow hard. Some more, some less. But no heart returns different from the way it was made. If you are not making your heart soft in this life, then Allah will make it soft. We are told: If you want peace and you don't want to quarrel within yourselves and with others, don't look in the direction of others. And don't even expect anything from them. If you expect peace from them and don't get it, don't complain. If you look at each other, it would be better, more sincere, to say " I don't expect any peace from you, I like to fight, I want to quarrel, I like to argue." That may not be nice, but at least we would not pretend that we are looking for peace. So, if we can't find peace from each other, from where does it come? Do you think it falls from the sky, or comes from underground? Quarrelling comes from ourselves, but peace must come from the One who is peaceful. Allah tells us, "If you are really friendly with each other, it is because of Our gift. We give you peace. So ask it from us. Look in Our direction when looking for it." Islam is the religion of truth, not of lies or illusions. It does not tell people that by themselves they are friendly. It says "You may pretend to be nice to each other", or you may prefer that it looks this way. But it is not true. So look for what is true. That is better for you, even if it does not fit your illusions. From ourselves, nothing good comes. If we are left to ourselves, we are enemies to each other. If there is any goodness amongst us, any friendliness, any kindness, it is not from ourselves but from our Lord. If we knew this, we would be grateful to Him. We would admit that there is someone who sends us these things, someone who gives peace, who gives rest, who gives, who gives us happiness. Don't say, "That is Sufi talk, that is religious talk." It is the truth. Very simple. But for many people it is not convenient to admit this, because there is that other one in us who says, "Listen! Go for it! Go and shout, go and fight, and kill!" Then you are

6648 Maulana Sheikh Nazim: PeaceTalk

in-between these voices, as usual. You must understand the name Al-Salam (Peace). I am not called Al-Salam, no one here is. There is only One whose Name this is, and it is from Him that peace must come, not from anyone else. You may say, "Yes, I understand about al-Salam, I will look into it, tomorrow. Tomorrow, I will look into Allah's direction for peace, but today I am going to finish my quarrel. I am going to give back to them what they gave to me, and when I am finished with them. I will look for Allah. Tomorrow, I will be peaceful. I will say, 'O You who are the peaceful one, give me peace.'" But there is no tomorrow. That is only an idea for our minds, an invention. There is only now. And you must intend for now. If you look for peace, look for it now! If you say, "I am too weak to reach peace now by myself", that is true. We are all too weak to reach peace by ourselves, at any time. Chinese people, who have very ancient wisdom, say that the worst thing that can happen to a human being is to die an untimely death. What is an untimely death? Does it mean that when you are only 25 and you have to die, that is untimely? No, untimely means something else. Everyone has his or her appointed time and that time is the right time, if they like it or not. That is not meant by dying an untimely death. It means: anytime, whatever the time is, when you have to die, and you are not ready. That is untimely. And a timely death, that is the best thing that can happen to a human being. So that, whenever the angel of death comes, he comes in time. Because one is ready. But we cannot be ready without having made ready, without preparation. When are you going to get ready? Tomorrow? Do you know your time, so you know that you have still time left? You must prepare yourself now, so you are ready to go to your Lord and be with Him, now. Not later. To prepare for being with Him means to turn towards Him in every respect. Now, we are turning to Him for peace. We don't say, "I still have some unfinished business here." Maybe, you will never finish your business. Maybe, there will be no time to turn towards Him. No time for peace. He is the One. And because He is the One, there is no conflict in Him or with Him. There is no opposition against the One, no quarrel. You can only oppose yourselves. Mawlana Sheikh Nazim, our master and guide, says very simple things very clearly. They are so simple and clear that we cannot hear them, if we are not simple and clear ourselves. He once said, "What does it mean to be a Muslim? A Muslim is someone who has promised his Lord never again to quarrel with Him." He says, "If I quarrel with You once, at that moment I stop being a Muslim. I am not submitting myself to Your Will." And, therefore, I am not in peace and not at

6649 Maulana Sheikh Nazim: PeaceTalk

rest. That is a promise. And as with all promises, we must ask for strength to keep them. Don't say, "I know myself, I am so weak, I am not promising anything." If you are a Muslim, you may be weak, but you promise. If you are saying "La ilaha ill-Allah", what do you mean? Abu Said Abu-l Khayr said: When you are saying these words, you say "I promise not to quarrel with You." You give baya' (swear allegiance) to your Lord, swearing allegiance to Him, promising never to oppose Him. La ilaha ill-Allah, I am connected to You. If you think you are too weak, ask Him for His support. Or ask meded from those who are helpers. But you must promise. For the promise is the only way to reach what everyone wants to reach. To reach peace, to be at peace and at rest with yourselves. Wa min Allah at-tawfiq (And from Allah comes success) Bi hurmati l-Habibi, bi hurmatil Fatiha.

A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani ‘r-rajim. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. SubhaanAllah, the worst of enemies to Mankind is the ego, but people do not think and that is astonishing! SubhaanAllahi ‘l-`Aliyyu 'l-`Azheem. Laa ilaaha illa-Llah Sayyidina Muhammadan Rasoolullah. (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) Yaa Rabbee! Spare us and grant us the strength to worship and obey You. Bestow upon Your Beloved Prophet more praises, more honor, and more heavenly lights and pleasure. If it was not for the association of rijaalAllah, the Men of Allah, life would not be; it would be a wasted life. (Mawlana Shaykh sits) SubhaanAllah, human beings are seldom thankful! People think the life of dunya is to come and go, but only a few think about the reality of dunya and what it carries from different types of ferocious animals, some of which can fly, some swim, or some run. However, human beings in our time are no longer using their brains to think. Most people are being ridden by their egos and by Shaytan. Shame on most of them! Allah (swt) said:
