then be no different to cattle. People do want to eat non-stop, they are chewing all day long, like cows. They do not realise, that if you eat all the time, you lose your taste. Like if you eat a spoonful of honey you will enjoy it, but if you have to eat 5 spoons in a row, you will refuse. This happens even with honey! Satan encourages people to want to eat all the time. In the old days the Romans would eat, then go and vomit and then continue to eat. For animals it makes sense to eat as much as possible because they are producing meat and eggs and milk for us to eat. But for us? It is forbidden for us to do things limitless. We must follow Divine Limits, Heavenly Rules. They give us a discipline for this life. When you are disciplined, you will find peace within yourself. When that has been established, common peace will come. If people haven't found peace within themselves, crowds of people will not be peaceful. To fast is the biggest wisdom which Allah has ordered his servants from the beginning until now. Fast, and you will find health, physically and spiritually! Someone who doesn't will be sick physically and spiritually. It is a command coming from Heavens. It is for the full benefit of mankind. Sometimes an illness will come to people and the physician will order these people not to eat and drink for several days. If people die without having fasted they will be hungry and thirsty. If we keep His Holy Orders it is like glorifying the Lord. Try to understand Islam. Try to understand the Holy Commands in Islam. Try to understand the fasting in Islam and don't accuse Islam in a foolish way. Whoever accuses Islam does not know anything about it. Islam is full of diamonds and pearls. Try to take some of them. 01.01.1996

Light of Awliya is Light of Anbiya

May Allah not cut us off from the faith that is coming from the Prophet’s heart. If it is cut, we become like a dried out well. But when it flows even a little bit, it gives life. Where there is no water, there is no life. With spiritual faith the spiritual life awakens…Haqiqi ilham… Destur, ya Sayidi, Meded…Audhu bi-llahi mina shaitani rajim, Bismillahi-r-Rahmani-r-Rahim. We need daily sustenance. As we need for our physical being, our spiritual being is asking daily sustenance. Every day coming new appearances; if you catch that appearance through your spiritual being, you are lucky. If you are sleeping, perhaps the river is running, but if you don’t open your land, the water is going and your land remains dry. Therefore you must be awake and, Subhana man ‘azzu wa shanu, glory to Allah Almighty, it is difficult now on our island to find another gathering sitting freely as we are sitting here; you can’t find. Because people just sank through darkness oceans; nothing they are seeing. People are in darkness. And Allah Almighty was saying that: ’Should be a darkness’. The Holy Quran is informing about past times, from the beginning of time up to the time of Rasulullah sws, as well as showing coming days. It is its speciality, the holy Quran is not an ordinary book, but it is Umm-ul-Kitab. All knowledge that is just registered or written through books is coming from that holy Book. Millions of books, all of them take their material, their essence, from the Holy Quran. Seeds of knowledge, countless seeds of knowledge. If anyone

may plant one, it will grow and grow, and that plant of knowledge will never fall down. It is not like our plants. A knowledge plant is forever, you can take and take. And the Holy Quran is giving countless seeds of knowledge to people. It can’t be like an ordinary book. Astaghfirullah! It is an endless ocean, you can take from it countless pearls and jewels. Therefore its speciality is to show from the beginning of time to the time of Rasulullah sws what happened. You can take every knowledge with details or as a summary. You can reach details, perhaps deepest details what happened from the first time when Allah Almighty said: ’I am going to make (a deputy on earth) - and to make (ja’al) is not like to create; so that the creation of Adam in the divine knowledge was ready, the divine will was signing the appearance of Adam and that he may be dressed as a Khalifa, as Allah’s deputy on earth, and that title Allah Almighty gave to Sayidinna Adam.. Then Allah Almighty informed the angels, so they knew it before Adam’s creation, and they said: ‘O our Lord, we are ready for that importance, for that purpose, we are most suitable to be Khalifa, and You are going to make that new creature that they are going to fight each other?’ Angels knew about the Children of Adam and therefore they said: ’We are doing everything as You say, as You order. We are not getting out from what You order. Why You are not making a Khalifa from us and bring a new creature in existence and dress him to be Your Khalifa?’ That means they knew before Adam’s appearance in existence about him and the Children of Adam. From the Holy Quran you can take every detail about the time that no sun was shining, no moon was turning and no earth was moving. And you can take every detail about the creation of Adam and his becoming titled as Allah’s Khalifa. And also for every time and century you can find what is happening through East and West between men, the Khalifas of Allah Almighty; what they did, what they do and what they are going to do in future, up to end, also. The Holy Quran is informing about everything that we are in need now and for coming days. And it is a big ignorance to object on Anbiya and Awliya when they say something from the news about the future. Very ignorant people object and say: ‘No one knows about coming news.’ Those people are no mind people, never understanding.

http://www.sufismus-online.de/LightOfAwliyaIsLightOfAnbiya (2 von 5)04.07.2013 23:23:55

5266 Maulana Sheikh Nazim: LightOfAwliyaIsLightOfAnbiya

As well as Rasulullah sws was saying that in the Holy Quran you find news about the past and the future. This is enough for who has any understanding. He must not object if a Wali speaks about coming days’ events and say: ’No one knows about coming days, what is coming.’ That is ignorance, because the Prophet said: ’You can find in it everything belonging to past times, as a summary and with details.’ And the word ‘khabar’ is something like news, but in Arabic it has a different meaning: prophecy. These ignorant people are asking to make prophets like ordinary people and say: ’They don’t know also.’ But prophecy gives them authority to look and to know what is written on Preserved Tablet for coming days and from events, and they must warn their nation. How you say: ’Even prophet not knowing’? How? He is prophet? If he is like me and you, what is the difference between an ordinary person and a prophet? But the Wahabis make beliefs up and down… mixing. May Allah make them down. We believe that the Prophet knows, because he takes from the Holy Quran what he is saying: the signs of the last days and up to the Last Day, everything. Allah is giving meanings, He is teaching Rasul. No teacher for Rasul sws. ‘ArRahman, ‘alama-l Quran…’- Allah Almighty taught the Quran to his most honoured Prophet S. Muhammad sws. What Allah taught him, Gibrail can’t know, and never going to know. When saying: ’Bismillahi-r-Rahmani-r-Rahim, Alif, Lam, Mim…’ only the Prophet knew, Gibrail was not knowing. Gibrail was saying: ‘Alif, Lam, Mim’, and Rasulullah said: ’I understand.’ That is like a code between Allah and His most beloved servant. Now we are looking to this verse that signs for coming days view, panorama: Should come a time that if a person makes his hand in front of him, making it from the side to his front, he can’t see, because of the darkness in that time.’ That is also a kind of sign that should come on earth ‘duhan’, a smoke, covering it for 4o days, so that one can’t see the second one. So many people are going to die; they can’t breathe, millions of people. And after 4o days opening. And this also signing now that is death of materials of people, but that darkness, if a person takes his hand in front of him asking to see it, he should not be able to see even his hand from dark darkness. Now we are in it; people don’t see anything. They are through dark darkness. Therefore I say that now you can’t find another group like our small group through East or West. You can find perhaps very few groups, but not such a group. And the majority of people is heedless, in darkness. They can’t see what is reality, to where going and moving, can’t know what they are doing.

Therefore Awliya ask from Allah Almighty to send Mehdi a.s. with the lights of prophecy; to be open once again the light of prophecy on earth. If he is not going to bring that light of prophecy, can’t bring any progress for him. No, he is going to be like other people that may carry candle, but a candle can’t give enough light for all people- we need a sun. A torch also is not enough, only a little bit showing where you are walking. But this huge world can’t be in light with a torch. And millions or billions of candles can’t give even one billionth part of what the sun gives to the earth. Now all Awliya ask and expect to be granted that light to Mehdi and to open. Awliya can’t do anything with their candles for taking people from darkness to lights… mina dhulumati ila nur… Only if Allah Almighty is giving to a person, that person is enough to take the whole world from darkness to lights, so that everything and everyone is going to see: ’What I am in?’ One person, one Mureed, was coming to his Sheikh and said: ’Every night I am sitting on Arsh, on holy Throne, and I am speaking with the Lord of Heavens.’ The Sheikh was looking: ’O my son, take this knife, and when tonight you sit and speak with that one that you say he is the Lord of Heavens, cut his ear.’ ‘Yes Sir, I can do.’ The next night he was also seeing the same film, movie going on. And he took that one’s ear, cutting and putting in a cloth, quickly bringing to his Sheikh. ‘You cut it?’ ‘Yes Sir, I was speaking last night also.’ Opening the cloth and looking- it was the ear of a donkey. Shaitan was bringing him to a stable, making him to sit where they put straw and barley for the animals for eating. He was sitting there, in that place, and in front of him his donkey was eating, and Shaitan was telling him: ’This is your Lord, speak to him. You sit now on the holy Throne.’ Now people are so heedless. Shaitan makes them to think: ’O, you are so civilized, no one reached to where you reached.’ Everyone, 21st century people, say: ’We are most civilized’, with Blue Jeans, men and women… all sit in sewage like big rats, jumping… When Mehdi comes, opening and showing them where they are, what is their civilization. There'll be big rats jumping, every day taking bath, every moment… Till Mehdi coming and that light comes on people and they see: ’Ohh, where we were?’ Now they are not knowing, because it is so dark now. They are like that Mureed who thought that he is sitting on the holy Throne with the Lord of Heavens. But when the light of prophecy comes and that sun is shining, people will look: ’Where we are?’, seeing that just all are in dirtiness. Now only for a few people we can use our torch and show them, but we can’t do more than this, because it is

nighttime. All Awliyas’ power, if coming together, can’t reach, they can’t show ll nations or mankind what they are doing, where they are sitting, after what they are running. But then Mehdi a.s. is coming and therefore Awliya ask him to come with the light of prophecy… We are looking after it… Some square-head people say: ’You are Wali, Qutb, why you don’t stop these things. Not enough power, our power is not reaching to all people. Only we are as an oasis through a huge dessert, a limited place, going to be a little bit water there, giving life around. But for the whole dessert must come rain from up and make the dessert to be green yards with everything… We ask from Allah Almighty, because when Mehdi comes, they say, our power must be more and more… Shukr! Every day new sustenance for the honour of Rasul salallahu alayki wassalim. Lefke - 04.03.2002

THE LIGHT OF IMAN and the UNVEILING OF HEARTS Our hearts, when the light of faith enters into them, are going to be wider, wider, wider. Even if you put all the oceans into them, they may hold them. But our present faith is taqlid, imitation, while the other kind of faith is real. That is imitation, like a figure without a soul. Thus, that real faith has not yet entered into our hearts. When it enters, the whole world is going to be changed, our view is going to be changed. Understand? Totally changed; everything is going to be changed. When real faith comes into our hearts and lights them, it will be as if a person has been blind but when his eyes are opened, he sees something other than what saw before. Therefore, don’t suppose that now we are in real faith. No, not yet. Grandsheikh was in the First World War from the beginning up to the end. He made jihad, the lesser jihad and the greater jihad, he completed them both. He said to me, “O Nazim Efendi, if I were to tell you about all that the people and I suffered during the First War, in which I saw so many terrible events and sufferings, this whole place would be filled with books, you could write so many books about it. But everything passes. The events of yesterday are buried, finished; today new ones will come, new ones. If they are going to stay with you, all of them not passing, no one could bear this life’s heavy burdens. That has passed away. This is our Lord’s will." “In our division there was an Armenian (Christian) sergeant. He asked one of the solders, while I was looking on, “What is your name?” “My name is Ali.” “Yes, You are Muslim?” “Alhamdulillah, I am Muslim.”

5270 Maulana Sheikh Nazim: LightOfIman

“But if you say you are Muslim, I can also say that I am Muslim. What I believe is enough to say that I am Muslim. I also believe in one God Almighty and the angels and the holy books and the prophets and the Last Day and Qadar, the Divine Decree,” that Armenian sergeant said. “I say what you say. But is that enough to be a Muslim?” “No.” “Then what is the sign? If it is only saying as you say, I do that, also. If you are talking about namaz, prayers, I do them, also.” (They lived as neighbors in Muslim towns and villages). Then Grandsheikh said, “Look, you are asking for a sign. I am saying to you that it is not enough only to say with your tongue, “I am a believer, I am a Muslim”. You may even recite the Holy Qur’an. But the sign of a Muslim and a real believer is that he has a light from his Lord Almighty. When he looks down, he can see up to the end of this world; when he looks up he can see to the end of the universe. If he looks at he East he can see up to the end of the farthest East; if he looks at the West, he sees up to the end of the Western regions. If he looks toward the Qiblah, he sees the K’aba.” Then that sergeant fell upon the hands of Grandsheikh and kissed them. Grandsheikh said that the real sign of belief is that a person has the light of faith in his heart, which comes from Allah Almighty. Nothing can keep back that light. Understand? What can keep back Nurullah, Allah Almighty’s light? Distance never prevents that person from seeing; darkness never hides anything in itself. Therefore, when real faith comes into our hearts, they are going to be lighted. Everything in the universe is going to be in front of us; nothing may be hidden from us. That is the degree of real faith. We are now within limits, and our sight is as if we are within four walls. But when Allah Almighty dresses one of His servants in Noor (Divine Light) there shall be no hindrance to his sight and his vision. Distances, walls, buildings, mountains etc. none

of these shall obstruct the vision of this servant. Nothing shall prevent him from looking and seeing. He will be able to look in any direction and every direction. He shall be able to see without distraction up to the end of that direction. Distance shall not effect his vision. Neither will darkness in the night be a veil over his sight. Night shall appear as day to him. This is because he is dressed in this Noor. Every cell of his body is also Noor and like the shining of the sun he shall be inside and outside of everything. Such a person shall be in the Divine Presence. If Allah Almighty questions such a servant it shall be in the form of speaking to him, only in order to honour him. When Allah Almighty speaks to and addresses such a servant more and more honour comes to that person. This is only for honouring as His servant has done his best for Allah Almighty and has reached already to perfection. This is why he shall not be questioned. He has realised and reached to what Allah Almighty has asked of him, and to what Allah Almighty has appointed for him. If a person does his best in trying to fulfil the purpose of his Lord, he must somehow reach to that station. When a servant of Allah Almighty reaches to such a station it shall never be lost to him. It shall be forever. When the real Power of Iman enters his heart he shall change from being a Worldly being into a heavenly being and his relationship to his heavenly stations shall be for always and ever. In unity he shall have no more troubles, no more problems, no more sadness and no more hopelessness. He shall be granted by Allah Almighty to be able to say “BE” and it shall become. When he reaches to that station he shall have no more egoistic desires. Finished. No more shall he belong to Dunya nor shall he even belong to himself. He shall belong to Allah Almighty and Allah Almighty shall accept him. To live for Allah Almighty is the highest horizon of servanthood. We have been asked to move towards this horizon. This is our target. When a person belongs to Allah Almighty he leaves everything and says Innee

Wajjahathu Wajjhiya Lillazee Faathiras Samawathee Wal Arla Hanifa. ‘Oh my Lord I have now turned my face to you’. Do we really mean it when we say this or do we say this only with our tongues. Allah Almighty is asking us to say it and mean it. To say “Oh my Lord, I belong to you and I am leaving out every other relationship in this life of mine. I am asking for a relationship with You in Your heavens”. Then we shall be given this relationship with Heavens.

LIGHT UPON LIGHT and THE LIGHT THAT IS TO BE COMPLETED

What is honour for a person, and how firmly must a person who has been honoured, try to keep hat honour? The one who belongs to an honourable person, is going to be honoured; therefore the one who originally has honour, may give honour. All praises and endless honours be to our Lord Almighty, innahu hamidun majid (Indeed, He is the Praised, the Glorious). Endless honours, endless Honour Oceans, endless Praise Oceans, absolute praises and absolute honours are for Allah Almighty alone. Those honours are from Him to Himself; no one gives Him honor. Rather everyone has been given his honours by his Lord Almighty; if He does not give, no one can acquire any honour or be praiseworthy. Therefore, it is Allah Almighty who gives honour and makes His servants praiseworthy, looking at their capacities and giving honour according to their intentions. As He looks at their hearts, He gives them honor. We have been honored by our Lord Almighty, and that is an endless grant from Him to us. That is something concerning mankind. Now we are amidst such unknown realities as Allah Almighty gives us. As we said, man is yet unknown. To the extent that we are

5274 Maulana Sheikh Nazim: LightUponLight

occupied with everything except our inner selves, it is impossible for us to discover ourselves. This eye is open for outward-looking, this ear is open for outward hearing; our hands, our feet – everything that we have in our physical bodies is occupied with everything around ourselves, completely occupied. There is one organ in our bodies which is the most important; that is the heart. We occupy it also with this life’s thoughts so that we are totally occupied. How can we be free to look at ourselves with even the capital or centre of our bodies occupied by the enemy? Therefore, we are trying now, first, to know and to give an understanding about ourselves. We must know about ourselves so that we may know about the Creator Almighty. If you do not go deeply into yourself, you can’t get to know about your Creator and about His divine position. Yes, mankind has been honored by its Lord Almighty. When, no one knows except One: the Creator knows when He honoured us, the Sons of Adam. We are not such creatures as are the beings in existence only for a short time. It is an ignorant person who says that the history of the Sons of Adam is a short one and that their existence is within a brief period. We must know, firstly, that our period is with our Lord Almighty. We were in our Lord’s Power Oceans with our Lord Almighty. Only our appearance in our physical bodies is for just a short period, but our realities are connected to the reality of the Creator. The one who has reality, his reality is eternal. We have realities or we are realities; the Sons of Adam are not just an appearance, a form, no. Everyone has a reality and that reality never changes. Allah Almighty never changes, and because all realities belong to Him, they are also never-changing. We have been given realities from the endless Reality Oceans of our Lord Almighty; that is the honour that we have been given. But yet we are occupied by something that is going to be in ruins, our physical bodies, and to pass away. Allah Almighty says that ghutha’ us-sai, the white of foam, goes, but the real benefit which that sea gives remains. Therefore, we are such bits of foam, appearing and then finishing, going away, but that reality which we have been given – that is forever, for eternity, for post-

5275 Maulana Sheikh Nazim: LightUponLight

eternity. From pre-eternity to post-eternity we have been given that, without asking; without our asking, Allah Almighty gave us that as a grant. None has been honoured with such an honour as the Sons of Adam have been honoured. We should be the most satisfied and happy ones among all creatures. But on the contrary, the most complaining ones among all creatures are the Sons of Adam. The Sons of Adam are those people who do not give true value to the honour that they have been given. Now, we know that it is the highest degree and honour for ourselves to belong to our Lord Almighty, to be His servants, His slaves (may be “slave” is a little too strong; our egos do not accept it although they are slaves, so we say, to be “servants” to our Lord) – that is honour for us. Therefore, “Nurun ‘ala nur” - light upon light. Allah Almighty gave us from His divine lights and honoured us, but yet He is asking to give us more than this. We are now in this life in order to receive a new grant from our Lord Almighty, a light. He is going to give us more honour than the first grant, also; He is asking to give that to everyone. “I gave you an honour without anyone asking from Me. But now I will give whoever asks from Me the second nur (light).” Therefore, all prophets came to give a reminder to the Sons of Adam: “O Sons of Adam, you, have been granted an endless honour from pre-eternity, but your Lord desires to give you more. That one was without your asking, but now your Lord desires to give you, for the post-eternal life, more than the first one, also. But you must ask.” Thus, it is a good tiding for the Sons of Adam that ultimately their nur, the light which Allah Almighty gave them without anyone asking from Him, is never going to be destroyed. Rather Allah Almighty is asking the Sons of Adam to ask for more than what He gave us, another grant, so that it is going to be nurun ‘ala nur, light upon light. Whoever asks is now going to be given as much as he was given previously. But those who do not ask any more, forgetting everything and denying everything from pre- eternity up to this day, will not lose the first grant of Allah Almighty which He gave to them. When Allah Almighty gives something, He does not take it back. In the Shariah, if a

person gives a gift to someone and wants to take it back, it may be done, but it is makruh, a disliked thing. How can Allah Almighty do disliked things? Astaghfirullah! Hasha, never! Therefore, when Allah gives, He gives forever. He gave to us; He will never take it back. He gave. And He is asking His servants to ask for more and more, and He is angry with them if they do not ask. Therefore we must ask. Therefore, during the period that we have been given in this life, Allah Almighty gives to us according to our intentions, not according to our actions. If we could be in this life forever, we would intend to be His obedient servants; thus, when He tests us and sees that our intentions are meant forever, He gives us our rewards, giving those Divine Lights endlessly. This is the second honor; the first we have already been given but Allah Almighty desires to complete it. Therefore, on the Day of Resurrection people will run and ask a completion from their Lord: “Rabbana, atmim lana nurana” (Our Lord, perfect our light for us) You have been given something like a candle; you are in need of a match to light the wick. We must try; we must try for this. That is perfection for the Sons of Adam. You can acquire that perfection during this
